Environment and Health Research Group
The process of human industrialization aggravated environmental pollution, among which air pollution led to the rise of cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other diseases. Indoor environment, as the main place of people's life, is affected by indoor pollution, outdoor pollution and residents. It is of great significance to study indoor environment to improve people's quality of life. The types of chemical pollutants in indoor environment increase exponentially with the development of industry, while the study on the evolution of microorganisms, under indoor environmental pollution is left behind . We will focus on the relationship between major volatile pollutants and microorganisms, and use nematodes and sterile animals to establish methods for the evaluation of indoor microbial environment. In addition, we used a variety of animal models to explore the biological hazards and mechanisms of the major air pollutant PM2.5. With the development of China's deep space exploration project, how to ensure the health of astronauts in the outer space environment is a key problem. Our research group simulate microgravity effects with three-dimensional random positioning cyclotron, and study physiological changes and their mechanisms (cardiovascular dysfunction, muscle atrophy, weightless bone loss, decreased immune function, aerospace anemia, space motion disease, etc.) under weightless environment through different animal models. We also carry out research on health hazards from cosmic radiation (tumorigenesis, cataracts, etc., and effects of long-term claustrophobic environment on psychology (psychological compatibility of space crew, psychological adaptability of environment, etc.), etc.
