Comparative Medical Research Center

Comprehensive Introduction:

As one of the four research centers of the Institute of Laboratory Animal Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, the Center covers the systematic comparative medical research of major human diseases.

Lovalization: Centering on major human diseases and combining the advantages of Institute of Laboratory Animal Sciences, the center conducts comparative medical innovation research on relevant major diseases, as well as research on disease model analysis technology and evaluation technology on the basis of establishing and utilizing animal models of diseases. In terms of discipline layout, it should correspond to major diseases and clinical needs, and establish smooth cooperation channels with other colleges and universities.

Staff Composition: scientific research team of Comparative Medical Research Center is composed of six researchers, six associate researchers and a number of young scientific researchers, including the one expert who won the "national excellent science and technology workers", the Ministry of Health "young and middle-aged expert with outstanding contribution" and "national innovation award", etc, and two distinguished professors of "Peking union scholar" as well as one lecture professor of  "Peking union scholar".

Composition of the research group: neurodegenerative disease research group, immune system disease research group, radiation disease research group, developmental disease research group, intestinal disease research group, tumor research group, cardiovascular disease research group, skin disease research group, aerospace and health research group, respiratory disease research group, and metabolic disease research group.

Landmark Achievements:

The establishment and application of AD/PD transgenic mice won the Chinese Medical Award twice in 2005 and 2015 respectively.
