Enterovirus Research Group
The research group is committed to establishing a new and effective animal model of viral hepatitis by using the rich and diverse animal resources of the Institute. The animal models under development include HBV transgenic mouse model and WHV groundhog model, etc., in order to obtain a hepatitis model with more application value. At the same time, the research group is also committed to strengthen the application of hand-foot-and-mouth mouse model in the fields of immune antibodies and drug therapy, develop new antibodies and new drugs, and expand the application value of the existing model. The sensitivity of genetically diverse mice to hand-foot-and-mouth virus was studied to further enrich the resources of hand-foot-mouth animal models.

Vector Virus Research Group
As continuous spreads of dengue and the outbreak of ZIKA, vector-borne viral infections have become a major threat to human health. To this end, the Institute and the Pathogen Center established a vector virus Research group in 2018. The aim is to create a new animal model for vector-borne infectious diseases, and to use the model to carry out comparative medical research, so as to provide animal models, key technologies and basic information for scientific research and comprehensive prevention and control of vector-borne infectious diseases.

Bacterial Diseases Research Group
At present, it is the only team with characteristic of laboratory animal and comparative medical research on tuberculosis based on systematic animal model of tuberculosis.

Respiratory Virus Research Group
Respiratory virus research group's research contents mainly include the development of animal models of influenza, the research on the cross-species transmission mechanism of influenza virus, the development and mechanism research of the early warning model for the evaluation of the transmission route and transmission ability of influenza virus. The animal model of multi-species influenza was established, and the comparative medical analysis was carried out to establish the comparative medical database.
